MJ RESTORATION · CUSTOMER INFORMATION
Privacy Policy
How information is used when you browse this site or ask us about headlight restoration.
Who to contact
MJ Restoration is the trading name used for this mobile headlight restoration service, based in Sunbury-on-Thames and serving London. For privacy questions or requests, email info@mjrestoration.co.uk or call 07847 262397.
This notice covers the enquiry process on this website and information you subsequently provide to MJ Restoration about that enquiry. Account and hosting functions provided by OpenAI are also subject to OpenAI’s privacy information.
The enquiry form
The form asks for the vehicle make and model, vehicle size, chosen package and postcode. We use these to assess the work, service area and any travel charge. Your name and callback number are optional. We do not ask for your registration number, full street address, payment-card details or a second copy of your email address at this stage.
Typing does not submit your enquiry. The page prepares the request in your browser. Selecting “Open draft in my email app” passes the request to your email app, where you can review, change or delete it. MJ Restoration receives it only when you send the email. Your sender email address and any information you add will then be included. Alternatively, you can save a text file locally.
The site does not save form entries to a database, browser local storage or session storage. Use “Clear my details” to reset the form. Your browser, email app or operating system may keep its own history, autofill, drafts or downloaded files; manage those in its settings. Do not include sensitive information or information about someone else unless you are authorised to do so.
Why we use information
- Enquiries and bookings: responding to your request and taking the steps you ask for before a contract, then arranging and performing the service if booked. The lawful basis is contractual necessity.
- Accounts and records: meeting tax, accounting and other legal requirements. The basis is legal obligation.
- Complaints and claims: investigating concerns, supporting warranty requests and establishing or defending legal claims. The basis is our legitimate interest in resolving disputes fairly, or a legal obligation where applicable.
Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. The form’s response checkbox records your request to be contacted about the quote; it is not used as a substitute for the appropriate lawful basis or as consent to advertising. There is no marketing signup on this site and no automated decision that grants or refuses service.
How long information is kept
Form entries remain in the current page until you clear them or the page is discarded; browser restoration features may retain a page independently. A file you download stays on your device until you delete it.
For emails and business records, retention is based on the purpose: completing an enquiry or booking, administering the applicable warranty, meeting statutory accounting duties and handling an outstanding complaint or legal claim. Enquiry details are not retained for future advertising. Ask us about the retention applying to your particular record, or request deletion; information still needed for a legal duty or claim may need to be retained.
Your choices and rights
You may ask for access, correction or deletion, and in relevant circumstances restriction or portability of your personal information. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. These rights depend on the circumstances and are not always absolute. You do not have to provide optional form fields; we need sufficient vehicle and area information to give a useful quote.
Contact us using the details above. We may need proportionate information to verify a request. We normally respond within one month; any lawful extension or restriction will be explained. If consent is used for a separate purpose in future, you can withdraw it without affecting processing already lawfully carried out.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). You do not have to complain to us first.
